“principles and advanced processing of ceramics” focuses on the   fundamental concepts and advanced processes of inorganic nonmetallic   materials. It aims at leading students to master the relationship between the   basic principles and the cutting-edge technology in the world, know about the   development direction of advanced ceramics, have a solid foundation for the   future research and development of new materials.

With the pursuit   of new products with high performances, new technology is constantly updated.   The development of new technology needs to followed the basic principle of   materials. The importance understanding the effects of processing variables   on the evolution of microstructural parameters should be emphasized. This   course presents advanced processes of inorganic nonmetallic materials and   interpret the basic principle underlying the behavior of materials. It aims at   leading students to master the relationship between the basic principles and   the cutting-edge technology in the world, know about the development   direction of advanced ceramics, have a solid foundation for the future   research and development of new materials. On successful   completion of this course students will be able to: Master the   latest process technology of ceramic materials involving semiconductors,   microwave absorbing materials, permanent magnets, heat capacitors and thermal   insulators. Comprehend   fundamental theory concepts and apply them to analyze and improve processes   of ceramics, finding relations between materials properties and relevant   microstructural parameters on one side and to understand which process   parameter changes a certain microstructural parameter on the other hand. develop a   vocabulary for the description of the processes, properties and   microstructures of ceramics. |
